is the ASUS MAXIMUS VI FORMULA LGA 1150 Intel Z87 worth it? or should i go with the ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO LGA 1150 Intel Z87?

You are looking for the best so go for formula. I am using it and love this beast. Purely for gaming. Overclocking it is very powerful beast. Plus it has bluetooth 4.0 WiFi, onboard great sound card and cross chill water and air cooling etc list goes on.

My recommendation is formula if budget is not consideeation otherwise go for hero if on budget

Both are from ROG

The Hero is the baby version of the formula. It is missing some of the features and isn't quite as nice.

Depending on what your doing you might want to look at going up to the extreme still ROG its more for overclocking but it also is the only board I can find that does 8x16x8x8x for SLI/CrossfireX without going into 2011 CPUs

Do you have a need for the mobo water cooling block? that and the Armor are the biggest differences between the two, I haven't found a need for liquid cooling with my Hero, am at 4.6 24/7 (4770K) , 32GB of Trident X 2666, and have a pair of Asus 780 CUs in SLI with the Core at 1098 (Boost 1150) and memory at 1563 (still playing there)
