Optic Drive causing Win7 to freeze on start-up

One after restarting win7 I could not load into windows. Started going through my hardware to find the problem and found if ANY optical drive is plugged into my motherboard windows freezes on start-up. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Try using a different SATA port on the motherboard.

I have tried that as well as using different sata power and data cables, and even a different drive altogether. I still cant boot with an optical drive plugged in.

Make sure your hard drive is the first boot device in the BIOS.

My boot order is the way it should be and my BIOS isn't the problem here.

Umm, if your BIOS has the optical drive listed first, and you connect an optical drive, it's a logical suggestion. Best of luck to you trying to figure this out.
