Hello, this is for a build that will be built in a week and a half.
My M5A99FX has an 8 pin EATX12V slot on page 2-9 it shows to either plug in a single 8-pin connector or a single 4-pin connector in to this 8-pin slot, but not two 4-pins.

My PSU has what is described as 1 "ATX/EPS12V 4/8 pin" connector, which is really two inter-wired 4-pin connector that slide in together and then resemble what an 8-pin connector looks like what the 8-pin connector is supposed to look like.

Do I plug in a single one of the 4-pins, or both of them. I am genuinely confused.

Thanks!

You have to plug in the whole 4+4 pin connectors for better power delivery specially with that power hungry motherboard you have.

So basically both halves of my ATX/EPS12V 4/8 pin does in fact add up to the 8 pin EATX12V connection my manual is asking for?

Absolutely yes. Some psu comes with 4+4 pin connectors, some psu comes with 8 pin connectors as a whole. So put that everything in.
