Hi all, I have a belkin router and a cisco modem. I'm not sure which one keeps working because my wifi signal appears on my phone but has no internet connection. Both the lights on the modem and router appear fine. Now for the past 3 days the router/modem stops working at around 10 pm. And the only apparent fix is to unplug the router for 10-20 seconds and re plug. Please helpp

ADSL or cable?

Is it exactly 10PM, or is it nearby? Is there anything else that happens at the same time, e.g. streetlights turning on?

Hi, how can I differentiate between an ADSL and cable?
It occurs roughly 10 minutes before or after 10PM and nothing else happens at the same time

Does your modem connect to a phone line, or to a big fat round cable with a hexagonal plug?

DSL then. DSL tends to be sensitive to radio noise, like badly-shielded microwaves or (sometimes) bad power joints.

Do you have a monitored alarm? It's possible it's grabbing the line at ~10PM for a check-up call, and dropping your DSL connection.
