Rightnow im siting at 3.6 ghz 18x multiplier overclock on vcore of 1.375 which i have not touched at all. (3.7 gives me some hickups)
Prime test gives me a 16.8 to 17.5 thermal margin with a cpu temp of 64. Coretemps are 53.5 max
I'm fine with it being at 3.6 atm but i would like to overclock my HT and NB.
I know you can either increase the multiplier or the frequency. I want to know which path i should take (multiplier or frequency)
Also i figure i should raise the cpu vcore as i do so right? Where to start?

System Specs:
phenom x 6 1090t 3.6 ghz / 1.375 vcore
Kingston hyperx 4GBx2 DDR3 1600
coolermaster hyper t3 with arctic 5 paste
asus m5a97
gigabyte 6950 oc edition

Solution
Keep in mind not all MOTHERBOARDS are equal when it comes to overclocking, nor are CPU's of the same model so don't expect exactly the same results others have.

When testing, also run MEMTEST for a full pass, as well as a CPU test like Prime95.

If in doubt, back off a bit on the overclock. Don't push right to the limit.
