Has any one used this and if so, what is your opinion on it? I currently use motinjoy with my PS3 controller, but lately, its been misreading and doing random button inputs even with a clean install of the progrm and drivers.

Solution
the official dongles are known to fail after excessive use, as it tends to overheat. well known enough to be mentioned in wikipedia, though with no citation. i do however keep hearing testimonies that the non-official dongles, the cheap ones from china, actually lasts better than MS'.

a sort of fix if you got MS' dongle; http://blog.chase.net.au/index.php/2009/06/broken-xbox-360-wireless-receiver-for-windows/

though if you can, it's much better to get the wired over wireless.

I suggest you do one of the following:

1) Get a WIRED XBox 360 controller (and install the PC software if needed), or

2) Wait and get the XBOX ONE wireless controller. No release date, just that Microsoft has verified it's coming this year. It's the exact same controller as the XBOX ONE has but they are working on the drivers (not sure why that would take long. probably just WAITING for XBOX ONE sales to die down?).

The reason I do NOT recommend the wireless 360 controller is because the USB receiver is known to fail as mentioned above and you need to buy a completely new kit to replace it with another controller (or risk a Chinese knock-off of the USB receiver). Shame on Microsoft for not having a separate USB receiver (they used to).

Was the problem ever fixed? Not sure. Got six months out of my wireless 360 controller, then I'm on two years with the wired version.

The FIX linked never worked for me, and the problem went on for a LONG time so wasn't isolated to a single bad batch.
