Nvidia 800-series; Should I wait?

Hey all,
I know this is a stupid and subjective question, but my laptop is about to go down, and I'm looking to purchase a new gaming laptop in the near future. Quick specs are:
4700MQ processor
16GB RAM
240 Intel SSD/1TB 7200RPM HDD
etc.

I have heard that the Nvidia 800-series is coming out Q1 of 2014. I also understand that they'll be featuring a new Maxwell technology. So, my question is, how beneficial is this new technology? Should I wait a few more months to get a new laptop, or should I go ahead and pull the trigger? I know it seems like I'm asking a personal question on a forum, but I'm really just asking how big you think the 800-series chips will make a difference. I fully expect the 780M to remain a powerhouse for years to come, but if the 800-series are just THAT good, I may be stupid for buying a new comp now. What do you all think?
Thank you very much for your help!

-Mitch

I believe the 800M series GPU's are already out I am no sure which laptops have them though. But as far as I know the Maxwell GPU has quite a bit more performance. The review I watched was about the GTX 750 and GTX 750 Ti and the performance over the GTX 650 ti was over 30% on some games. I think the Maxwell architecture gets more performance out of the Shader/Cuda cores as is it should. So all in all the 880M does have similar specs in terms of numbers except the 8Gb of VRAM and the lower power consumption. But if you were upgrading from the GTX 780M I don not think it would be worth the cost. But if you getting a new one anyway you would get better performance from the GTX 880M.
