Alienware is a gaming oriented brand
Macs, are mostly(not entirely) for professionals, the cheapest(yet still expensive) mac is actually for simple, everyday use.
Apple products are generaly thought as premium.

XPS (or Vostro - XPS for business) is Alienware for poor people, LOL. It has non extreme CPUs, more room for upgrades than the rest of Dell models. XPS has actually more physical room for upgrades than even Alienware, which is already packed to the top by Dell standards. Alienware can accommodate Dual SLI only, fyi, it currently offers 2 GTX 770 in SLI, I think it is their top offering.
