radeon r7 260x no hdmi

Morning ppl I've recently brought this ghx card new motherboard and Intel in cpu,but when I plug hd lead in the screen just stays black,with the vga lead everything works fine......ant ideas what could b happening

Dear Paul Stokes,
Try setting the screen resolution to 1920x1080 (full hd) or 1280x720 (hd ready) {depending on your monitor resolution} and setting the refresh rate to around 60 Hz.

Using a TV should not be a problem. It can be a real pain when these things happen.
I forgot to mention: try changing the settings while using a VGA cable. Connect the HDMi Cable after.
