VS247HR (23 inch) - VS248H (24 inch)

I mostly play Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and I'd like to get a new monitor that costs no more than $205 AUD.

What's the difference between both monitors? What does H and HR stand for?
Is a smaller screen better for games like CS:GO where you aim for the heads?
Any ghosting on these monitors?
Input lag on these monitors?

I hate ghosting, my 19 inch no-name monitor has really bad ghosting and I lose most close range pistol shots. I've read that 'VE'248H (Not 'VS'248H) has really bad ghosting so I'd probably keep away from that monitor.

there isn't really much difference other than their sizes for those 2 you have specified. HR is newer model than monitor with just H. Other than that VS247HR has better pixel pitch by a margin of 0.0048mm :D
Both monitors support maximum refresh rate of 75 Hz. So, you would need to use the DVI connection to get 75 Hz at 1080p full hd, since HDMI won't support anything above 60 Hz at 1080p. The monitor is a good for gaming. Another monitor you can have a look at is Asus VS247H-P. If you can find it on lower price than those you have specified.
However, if you are really into competitive shooters, you may want to go with monitor of 120/144 Hz Refresh rate(if your hardware can render that many frames) for the smoother visuals. But your...

I just checked the Asus website and I might get the VS247HR because of the matte finish. BTW, is 75hz alot different to 60hz? Thanks!

it isn't huge difference though, rest it would be dependent on your gpu if it can provide you that frame rate for games or not. Usually a normal user won't be to tell difference above 60 fps, so even 75hz would be enough for you if you are not an aggressive gamer.

I get 200+ FPS in CS:GO. I'm getting the VS247HR in 3 days or next friday (Aus)

Is it possible to overclock the VS247HR? to like 80hz or more?

the difference wouldn't be noticeable on a monitor. I would never recommend OCing your monitor though as you may damage asking it produce something that it's really made capable to produce and you can ruin your monitor. Play safe and don't decrease the life of your component.

I just made my current monitor run at 70hz, I actually prefer it because there's slightly less ghosting and everything looks a bit faster. It might be placebo effect I'm not sure.

just look at stock 75Hz, if you are not really comfortable then give it a try. Good luck :)
