Which GPU would you pick from these?

Hi guys, so I'm looking to build a second PC now for the girlfriend (yeah she plays BF4) and was originally going to go with the Sapphire r9 290 tri-x, the prices have risen now and that is really the only r9 290 I was interested in. As I said the price for this card in the UK is about the same as an EVGA gtx 780 acx, which I have in my build and love it. So would it be wise to stick to the 780 for the same price or get the r9 290 (I've heard the 290 shows artefacts and runs hotter than the 780) So what would you guys do? aside from the Sapphire would you consider any other 290's (they are cheaper than the 780 and tri-x) Anyway here are the prices of some cards? Which would be my best choice regarding noise, temperature, performance and reliability?

I can see that you want the most you can get for your money, I advise looking at the Aria Superspecials page, they have great deals right now on the R9 290's that are all cheaper than the ones listed above:

The R9 290 with the PowerColor tri fan cooler is one that's definitely worth considering imho, looks to have great overclocking ability.

I have no idea what simon is on about, it's not way more 'powerfull' they're generally on par whereas R9 290 pulls ahead a few times in some games.

I thought the 290 was more powerful..anyway yeah I thought the same the 780 has no problem running everything maxed out, even on 1440p, I know I like the card because I already have one and as I said, I love it, thanks for the input. I might still look at the cheaper 290's though to save a bit of money.
