Hi all!
Today i installed a HD 4870 (second-hand, but i'm pretty sure the GPU works fine).
Problem is, when i boot up my pc, the screen takes more than expected to "wake up" from the "stanby mode", and when it wake up, i can only see a really messed up light-blue screen that says somethink like:
"The pc will be restarted...checking the pc for ptoblem tot% completed... VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE atikmpeg.sys"
And all the screen is messed up with some little grey bars and lines all around.
I'm pretty sure the PSU is giving enough power for the GPU.
If instead i boot up with the screen plugged in the IGP, the pc starts up normally, and it recognize the HD4870. I've installed the latest CCC and the latest driver for the GPU.
PC specs:
system win 8.1
mobo p5k
4 bg ram
PSU rasurbo DLP55.1 550w (with 19A and 18A +12v lines)
processor Intel Core2 Quad cpu Q6600 2.4GHz
Thank you for your time and your help
Mario
PS: i've googled the problem for hours, in this and other forums, without finding a useful solution.
