So when trying to copy across HDD's or external devices my explorer.exe resets aka closes and repoens (my deskstop and task bar etc goes away and comes back) for example, when trying to move a file from my 2nd hdd to my first my dekstop and taskbar goes away and comes back and nothing happens no copy or anything.

Navigate to this folder (assuming your Windows is installed on your C:\ drive):
C:\Windows <- Inside this folder you should find the file "explorer.exe". Select that and press "CTRL+C" (this will copy the file, do NOT cut, just copy).
Then paste the copied file into:
C:\Windows\System32
And like magic, no more explorer crashing
