Noctua NH D-14 in a NZXT H230?

My friend got me an i5 4670k and I wish to overclock it. A D-14 is a lot cheaper than other coolers here, but I notice there is a problem. D-14's height is 160mm but the H230 only has 158mm. So my question is, do I need to worry about that 2mm? If so, what is another reliable cooler at the same price point? ($100)

Yes, you do want to worry about that 2mm, unless you want to run the computer with the side panel off (not recommended).

    The NH-U12S is good.

can you describe what kinda problem would occur with that 2mm? what would be damaged?
  3. Nothing would necessarily be damaged, but if Noctua's and NZXT's measurements are correct, the NH-D14 wouldn't fit in the case with the side panel on.
