fx-8350: 236 dolars
r9-290: 542 === 778
--------------------------
i7-4770k: 412
gtx 770: 395 === 807
(Prices in our country)

Hello everyone !
I have two choices: The AMD one and Intel on. Please no fanboyism..
That 30 dolars difference don't matter much, but I will build my gaming rig.
Main purpose Gaming>Streaming>Rendering.
The cpu cooler: Evo 212
Mobo for AMD: GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3
Mobo for Intel: MSI Z87-G43

And also it would be good if it can live 4-5 years and be quite future proof :)
1080p And atleast +50fps

I want to ask you three questions
1) How much Ghz could I get with those setting with Amd and Intel ?
2) Which build would better for me ?
3) How big psu would I need with Amd and Intel ?

Thank Y'all !

Both are just as good, so what do you want a stronger CPU or a stronger GPU?
(note: dont consider the fx 8350, instead consider the fx 8320)

1: AMD 4.3-4.7, intel 4.3-4.5. (This is really useless information, as Intel would processes faster at same or even lower clockspeed of a fx 83x0)
2: See the top line.
3: 600w should be more than fine for both-

Ok, So you think that 8320 with mobo listed above and evo 212 would take 4,8 ghz and live for 4 years ? Or 8350 would do that better ? I know that it is just oc'ed 8320, but i was told it is highly binned or whatever i don't really understant ^^

Maybe you had a bad PSU?

Because 600W is more than enough.

If this is a gaming build then either go I5 4670K + R9 290 or FX 8320 + 290.

Nope the PSU was brand new, used it with an HD6850 before i've bought the R9 290. Problem is under full load the R9 290 draws more power than 300W (could reach ~385W for a couple of miliseconds).
Also note that the FX processor will draw more power than the intel so it's crystal clear that 600W with the AMD build wont be enough.

750wbronze

You are sorely missinformed.

So lets go with the 385W ceiling you mention for the power usage.

Do you REALLY think a 125W CPU and rest of a system can draw then OTHER half of the 600W?

Geez dude, wake up. Do the math. You must have had a bad PSU.

So 385W + 200W = ??? 585W...

Still good on 600W if you have a quality power supply as should ALWAYS be the case.

Not to mention your system would almost NEVER get there for any more than a few seconds at most.

Yes 600W is enough if you have an empty case with a CPU and a GPU in it. But not only these 2 components need power I hope you know that, not to mention what happens if OP wants to OC. I wonder.
Don't try to save money on the PSU, you'll regret it.

Ok but if my system takes of 585 W, then I would need atleast 700 Watt psu right ? Because the efficiency is lesser than 90%..

Actually that 200W you mentioned about Toms hardware review of the 8350. That is COMPLETE system consumption - graphics card.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/fx-8350-vishera-review,3328-16.html

Look dude. Cut your losses. I do not want to argue with you and on top of that you are arguing with nothing but empty air at your back.

Efficiency does not work like that.

Lets say a quality power supply has a rated wattage of 1000watt and an efficiency percentage of 90%.

That means to deliver the rated 1000W the PSU would need to draw 1100W from the wall socket to deliver 1000W.

The rest of that 100w dissipates in heat and vibration.

When looking at PSUs, that is not the only thing to consider, you need to make sure that the unit you are getting is quality and is actually capable of delivering the rated wattage.

For example MOST Seasonic manufactured PSUs are actually capable of doing MORE than their rated wattage, but not when they get too hot.

There really is a lot to consider and the simplest thing to do is just get something that is KNOWN to be quality.

Okay then let OP use a 600W PSU it's okay. Let's watch him killing that PSU. You'll take responsibility I guess.
Even for a quality 650W PSU I couldn't say for sure that it will be okay let alone 600W. Just spend like 10$ more on a 750W pase and you will be safe, AND you will be able to OC your processor (unlike with a 600W PSU.)

Also on Sapphire's site the recommended PSU for the R9 290 is 750W. I know they always recommend a bit higher PSU because of the crappy ones.
