Ive seen alot of mixed reviews, even on this site, about whether an air or water cooler is best. I have a large case, Rosewill Throne, and plenty of space. I just want some opinions or maybe even some hard numbers on whether i should go air or water cooling for overclocking my fx-8350. The colder the better, whatever works best!

Good air cooler is always my choice! There is one problem with liquid coolers that is almost newer mentioned and that is lack of airflow around the boards VRM's/Mosfets which may overheat and cause issues.

Dear,

You can safely opt for aftermarket Air Coolers because risks are associated with the water based coolers. I've ordered NH-U14S from Noctua. I wanted to switch to Noctua's NH-14D but its size is huge and I did not want to compromise the looks of my Corsair Dominator Platinum RAMs. Third you can opt for Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo (If budget constrained).

Noctua coolers are the best breed in the after market air cooler followed closely by the CM Hyper 212 Evo.

You' ll not be disappointed and temps will be normal when using air cooler. No issue at all.

Happy hunting!
