I i want to but this card http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/GTX680DC2O2GD5/#overview, and i have a corsair VS550 and was wondering if this would be suffiecent, i have 2 HDDs, 3 case fans, 1 stick of ram.

Ah I guess I'm just used to memory intensive applications. Gaming doesn't really suffer from single channel operation too badly, but it seems silly to leave performance on the table when there are such high end components in a system.

Dual-Channel does double the bandwidth between the memory and CPU, but it only results in significant gains if the CPU couldn't communicate fast enough over a single stick of memory.

If you have a modern CPU and one stick of memory only you are very likely to be bottlenecked though it may be under 20% depending on the hardware involved. Still, there IS likely a bottleneck.

Agreed, the ASUS 770 is superb.

@OP, Not sure what your budget is, but there are some great deals on 780's nowadays too.
