Hello all
About a 2-3 weeks ago my computer was getting stuck on the starting windows screen. After getting help from the good people at the avast forums we finally got it working again (details here, http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=146128.0).
Now the problem I am having is with my internal samsung ssd (Samsung 840 Series 250GB Internal Serial ATA III Solid State). When I plug in the hard drive before turning on the PC, the computer gets stuck on the starting windows screen. If I go into bios the hard drive isn't detected.
When I plug in the hard drive when my pc is on, under disk management, a new disk pops up but it is titled "disk drive". It doesn't have any names attached to it or anything. It doesn't show up under my computer.
Not sure what I can do from here. My main SSD which has windows on it and my other HDD (which has windows xp on it, but I don't boot into that) work fine. It's just this SSD that ever since I had the problem mentioned earlier, hasn't been working.
Any help would be much appreciated.
