Well, we need to know your budget, what all you need (monitor, OS, keyboard, mouse etc) and where you live.

Hi there!

I only have a few questions, so I want to be quick and not waste anymore time of yours. I would really like to upgrade my current PC. Now I have Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 2.33 Ghz, Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 from Gigabyte, Motherboard is from MSI G31TM-P21 and 3 Gb DDR2 RAM. I think it's 677mhz or something like that. I really want to upgrade to play latest games a bit..ahem.. better :D  I'm on a budget so I was thinking of buying FX 8350 from AMD but I'm not sure. Please tell me a whole PC build without a graphics card because I think this is pretty good graphics card to play 1080p games. Please help. Budget is around 300-350 €.

Thanks!

This was what I wrote before registering and I thought it saved, sorry.

If you want to upgrade your processor, you'll need to upgrade your motherboard and RAM as well. The FX 8350 uses an AM3+ socket, so you'll need to find a motherboard that supports AM3+. You'll also need to get DDR3 RAM. I'll give you some part recommendations later tonight if no one else has by then.

Ok, sure thanks. But is it good for playing latest games at high/ultra settings 1080p 60fps most of the time with that graphics card I have? And would 8gb of DDR3 ram be enough?

It really depends on the games. With some tweaking you can probably play most games on medium-high settings. To get to ultra you'll want to upgrade your card to a 770. 8 gb of DDR3 ram will be fine.

Do you want a full build (without graphics card) for 300-350 or a motherboard, RAM, and cpu upgrade for 350? If you upgrade just those three components, you'll want to check your power supply to make sure it's capable of powering them.

If you're just upgrading those three components, here are my recommendations ($254 EUR) : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2XH8s

If you want a whole new computer (except the graphics card), check this out ($400 EUR): http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2XHnb

It's a little over your budget, but it includes everything you wanted at the cheapest price possible. You could downgrade to an FX-4170 and save some money but still get about the same performance though.

Not sure if you have already, but make sure your power supply is adequate to handle the new CPU!

My PSU is from Corsair 700W... Which I screwed up with the purchase, I should have waited, because all over forums people are complaining about that awful static noise it makes.

I don't know what you're talking about, unless you get a faulty unit, it shouldn't make noise. I've had two corsairs (CX430 and RM750), and both have worked well and silently. I think you'll be okay.

What country are you from?

I need to know where you're from so I know what to recommend...Prices in Germany probably vary to those in Spain for example.

Only slovenian part store I know of:

http://www.agt.si/racunalniska-oprema/procesorji/amd-fx... 178Euro

http://www.agt.si/racunalniska-oprema/maticneplosce/gig... Gigabyte 990XA-UD3 Mobo 96Euro

http://www.agt.si/racunalniska-oprema/zracnahlajenja/co... - Good CPU cooler 35Euro

http://www.agt.si/racunalniska-oprema/spomin/corsair-ve... - 1600mhz 8GB RAM 83Euro

All from slovenian retailer, enjoy.

Whilst you don't "NEED" the cooler, the FX-8350 stock one isn't very good.

If you find the FX-8350 is too expensive with a cooler, I'd suggest getting this:

The FX-8320, a lower clocked FX-8350

And I can just overclock it to the same speed as FX 8350 right? Or a bit less?

You can overclock the 8320 to the FX-8350 speed. The 8350 is a factory overclocked 8320.
