I recently bought a new graphics card, and after connecting it to my motherboard went to connect the power cables. But after attaching them to my GPU, I noticed that I only had 1 6pin adapter coming out of my PSU, but there were 2 6 pin adapters coming out of my card. What do I do?

More about : 6pin power adapters

Amen to that! You could technically use an adapter to convert a couple molex power connectors to a 6-pin connector, but that's not a great idea. If the PSU was meant to power a GPU that required two 6-pin connectors then it would have two 6-pin connectors. Since you didn't include any information about your system it's a little hard to say much more than that.

If you want good recommendations you need to post your complete system specs. The Corsair CX line is their budget line. They aren't terrible, but you can probably do better. I'm going to hold off on any recommendation until you post system specs.

Chance that PSU asap, HP didn't ment that you such a card on it.

This is a great one for the price: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

I'll second that recommendation. That's a good PSU for the money.

So are 6pin and 6+2 pins compatible with each other so I can plug in the card?

Yes, a 6+2 connector can either be used as a 6pin or 8pin

It's a good PSU. It relies on a $10 promo code and $25 mail in rebate to get the price to that point.

The $25.00 XFX is a high quality power supply made by SEASONIC with the right POWER connections and 44 amps on the 12v rail . will suit your needs and some.

So, is that the overall vote of this thread? Because I am still stuck between the XFX and the SeaSonic. And I am getting anxious to try out my new card, but can't exactly do that when I look over at my desktop laying on its side without a power supply in it.

That XFX is a great to, since it's a Seasonic internal.
The only downside is that it's a little nosiy under full load, however your PC will probally never go over 400w.

How won't it go over 400w? My card requires 500w.

Cause the need to make sure that 500w PSU can run your card. A crappy 500w will explode before delivering 450w.
Plus they take in account you have a high-end CPU and a lot of HDD's and such.

And the also take in account some headroom.

I can even say(looking at your parts) that it won't even exceed 350w during gaming

I never thought of my CPU as high end *blushes*. Anyway, I think I am about to order the XFX, and should receive it tomorrow with the Next Business Day Shipping. Total Cost- $80 with the $10 promo code. If I have anymore problems I will contact this thread again.
