Hi guys! I'm building a PC for friend who is going to study filming, animation and video editing things... And i'm in a hole, should I go for a GTX msi 770? or go a quadro? .. the thing is that if I go for quadro he will get less cpu and ram and things ,for the other hand, if I go for the gtx I cn get him a lot better rams and cpu.. What should I choice for him?

PD: he will use maya and adobe things
PDD: srry for the bad english

Well, is this going to be a desktop replacement, or will this be for on the road? Size, weight, portability, battery ect? All things that need to be considered. Otherwise adobe really doesn't rely much on graphics at all, its all about the processor. Not to sure about maya, but having a discrete gpu in general will make the biggest difference, how big or good you get after that might not really prove to be that much of a difference from a price point perspective.

Will it be used for gaming? if not then you could gain some cash in your pocket and a few hours of battery by going with a gtx 765 vs the 770. Wont make a big difference at all with rendering.

But biggest things, I would recommend 'cheap route' getting like an asus g750 with i7 4700 765 or 770. it offers great cooling, 2 hhd/ssd spaces, ram upgradable up the butt, while it has a great sturdy feel good keyboard and all the such. But weighs 10 lbs and offers 2-3 hours of battery.

Something like an asus or the Samsung ativ book 8, offers last years i7 (minimal difference between the two performance wise), you'll get a lower performing amd gpu, and only one storage space (1tb ssd upgrade is great option for it), but offers all that in a 5lb 15 inch 6-8 battery hours.

Gigabyte also offers a slim 'gaming' laptop around th e$1300 mark, I believe it is the 765 gpu but there is a 770 option as well. Decent battery and cooling, slim small size factor as well.

I could keep going but if you could point me in the protable / power house direction, as there are great laptops for each category but not really a middle ground. need to decide if you want it to be mobile great battery and light/ or a powerhouse upgradable beafy but low battery and heavy
