I'm upgrading to SLI 660 and also getting a 1440p monitor, most likely a second one in the future as well. My question is, will 2Gb's of VRAM cripple my 1440p performance, compared to 4Gb's? I've heard it will, but I usually come here just to confirm what I read.

Yes it will. It won't cripple it, but it won't be as good as a 4GB card. More VRAM is very useful for high resolution gaming. However, you should be fine on 2 monitors with GTX 660 SLI. It just won't be on ultra, probably medium or high settings with games

+1

Also are buying a second gtx 660 or two new ones? If you are buying two brand new you should consider getting a gtx 780. It's performance is a bit behind the sli 660's and it's a bit more expensive, but still more than good enough for 1440p gaming. It would also allow you an upgrade option by sli'ing it if you choose to in the future. I always buy one card and then a year or two later get a second one to sli. Entirely up to you though.

I'm buying a second one. The first has done me well, but I'm really looking to go forward in hardware and quality.
