What is the most affordable monitor that will keep up with this gaming build? Should I go with 240hz or 120hz? I am looking for something around 23" but am flexible. Thanks in advance!

I would go with a 120Hz monitor that does 1080p. For maximum affordability though, I would lose the 120Hz refresh rate and opt for just 1080p. That could go lower than $200.

240Hz refresh rate isn't worth it. You'll only ever see 240 FPS in Minecraft. Go for 120Hz

Also, AOC ASUS and Dell make great monitors, but I recommend the above!

Sorry, your link did not work :/  it just took me to the newegg website. Can you type the name of the monitor? Thanks!

Get a 23 inch IPS screen with <=4ms response ratio gray to gray and you're set. You'll like the better picture quality more than the improved refresh ratio of a 120HZ.

Ahh man. Now I am lost on what to get. My friends keep telling me to go 120Hz to get rid of "motion blur" in games...but like you said I don't want to get the cheapest 120hz if its not going to have a nice picture. I was recommended this Samsung (http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-P2570HD-24-6-Inch-1080p-M...) but I don't know if that is going too cheap for a 240hz monitor.

Any recommendations on nice IPS monitors? What exactly is the "gray to gray" you are talking about?

Thanks for the help!

Refresh rate won't case motion blur. The gray to gray (response time) is the time it takes for your monitor to get info and convert it to an image. For gaming a lower response time (1 to 3 milliseconds) is best. Refresh rate is the cap at which your monitor can display frames (aka its max frames per second).
