As per the specs: 2 x DIMM, Max. 8 GB, DDR2 1200(O.C.)/1066*/800/667 ECC,Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel memory architecture
You can use ECC or non-ECC, but it has to be un-buffered. Registered memory only works with server motherboards that officially support it and they usually have 8 or 16 memory slots.
