Is my CPU bottlenecking my GPU?

Hello, my bad if this is the wrong section to post this but I was really confused and needed to know. So I have:

EVGA GTX 465 4gb vram
Intel i7 950 @ 3.06ghz
6gb ram

I was wondering this because my friend had suggested to me unparking my cpu cores, which I did. When play arma 2 dayz, I noticed a 20-30 fps drop. When I parked my cores, it went back to normal. I was wondering if I was in the wrong with something I did, or it was my CPU bottlenecking. Thanks.

Solution
Well it seems like unparking the cores definitely hurt your FPS. I'm not sure why, it shouldn't have any FPS change for ArmA 2 honestly.

The only thing I can think of is that by unparking the cpu cores, the temperatures went too high and the CPU was throttled.

But no, I don't see how your CPU could bottleneck your GPU, especially not after you unparked cores :p

Try monitoring the temperatures after you unpark it while in game, let me know what they are.
