hello, could anyone clarify the difference between a 204 pin and a 200 pin stick of RAM? will a 204 pin stick fit in a 200 pin slot? I have this motherboard:

mobo

the specs sheet claims a 200pin ddr3 stick will fit, yet i havn't found a 200 pin 4gb ddr3 ram stick, so I was wondering if I would be able to put in a 204 pin ddr3 RAM stick into that motherboard?

specifically this one: RAM

my main concern is that the RAM slot on the motherboard looks like it fits a 204 pin but the spec sheet claims 200 pins.

Solution
No, the notches are in a slightly different location. But the only 200 pin SO-DIMMs I've seen have all been DDR2. I wonder if that link you posted is a typo, though. It may have supposed to read 204 pin DDR3.

I was wondering that too. the slot on the motherboard counts 36 and 66, which is really only what 204 pin ram sticks have on each side if im not mistaken. ill purchase the 204 pin ram stick and see if it fits (which i trust it will).

I think you're correct. The slots are 204 pin DDR3 SO-DIMM:
