lan connection via 2 different gig routers average 11mb. what is happening? anyone help me please.

Solution
You can normally leave the connection speed at automatic, and it will pick up the max speed of your connection.

Do you have firewalls up between the two computers? That might be slowing down the speeds.
Sure sounds like it is negotiating to 100m on one or both of your pc when you hook it to the router. It is suppose to be able to use any cable since it supports mdi/mdix. I would use straight cables though to connect to the router it may be getting confused if you are using a crossover since there really is no such thing as a 1g crossover cable.

You could also go into the nic settings and force it to only run at 1g but the port may then not come up if the router is being stupid.

The router itself should not slow the traffic down. Almost all modern routers have a dedicated switch chip to run the lan ports so that data should be able to pass at 1g between these ports.

....The cable I'm using to the router are both cat5e. I have tried to change the mix cards to 100 full duplex my but that slows down the transfer to like 8mb
