Getting trouble with Ubuntu 13.1

Hello everybody, I just installed Ubuntu 13.1 on my pc today, everythingi its okay except there is no internet and it freezes when its shutting down (I have to press the pc button to shut it). My mobo is an Asrock n68 vgs3 fx with no ethernet card.

If you have no ethernet card what are you using?

For the second problem, hit the escape key while shutting down. You'll be able to see where it hangs. If the solution isn't obvious come back with the line where it hangs and we'll see how we ca help.
