I am building my first custom PC and I was wondering if someone could help me pick out a power supply..
I believe everything is compatible but I could be wrong. I have checked a component compatibility checker online and I received an error with the power supply that said "PSU form factor".. Any help?

here is my part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Revxltage/saved/3FM0

I have already ordered the case, cpu, motherboard, cpu cooler, storage, and video card.

Don't worry about it. Both your case and power supply are ATX form factor.

Are you trying to leave enough headroom for SLI? If not, 850W is way more than the system needs. A quality 650W PSU would be plenty. I would also suggest getting Windows 8.1 instead of Windows 8. You can upgrade Windows 8 to 8.1, but then you can never do a fresh install of 8.1. If you're really wanting an 850W PSU I recommend the Corsair HX850. If you don't plan on SLI then I would go with something like the Corsair HX650 or SeaSonic M12II 620 Bronze.

Great advice. I planned on upgrading to windows 8.1 but I was not aware that I could buy an 8.1 install disc. I also planned on doing upgrading parts and SLI but very far into the future so I went ahead and chose this power supply to avoid having to buy another one later on.
