Hi!

I am building my own PC and with everything else chosen, I still can't decide on the GPU. I'll go with i5-4440, ASRock B85 PRO4 LGA1150 ATX, 8GB RAM and a 450 W Corsair power supply.

The decision I have to make is between:
R9 270 (probably Sapphire's) for 700 PLN = 140 GBP = 230 USD
GTX 660 (probably MSI's) for 650 PLN = 130 GBP = 215 USD

The decision is made more difficult by Assassin's Creed 4 being bundled with the already cheaper 660. On the other hand, however, the nVidia card is actually older and a bit less efficient. I'd love a free game I actually want to play and some money saved, but I'm afraid the GTX 660 will become obsolete quicker. I don't mind a few frames per second of difference, it's more about compatibility or driver support in the future, stuff like that.

Which one would you reccomend to go with?

EDIT: Another thing that confuses me even more is: Mantle, which improves ATI GPU's performance; And the newest 334.89 nVidia drivers, which also boost the performance quite a bit (http://www.tomshardware.com/news/nvidia-driver-geforce-...).

Get the 660. 270s are being bought up by the truckload by miners. Save the $15 and get something good on Steam. Trust me, you'll not regret you're choice.

R9 270 is just renamed 7870 with minor changes. 660 is not older than it and very capable.
If you want latest technology better wait for nvidia 800 series, coming this year.
