Hi, I want to upgrade my pc to a gaming pc but not sure how I should approach this my budget is 600$.
Model: asus desktop PC cm1745
Processor: AMD A8-5500 APU with Radeon (tm) HD graphics 3.20 GHz
Installed memory: 12.0 GB
If you need to know anything else tell me and I'll try to post it.
I should also tell you that I have a 1tb hard drive I believe it is?.

Thanks Vic 40. However, people generally know quickly whether or not you know what talking about. $600 is a lot of money and OP quite rightly needs to look at his options. I've only ever recommended water cooling on Tom's on a few occasions and that was for full system cooling, way out of your budget. So you maybe thinking of someone else.

Judging on the conversation we had, i'm pretty sure thats what i recommended.

ok, socket FM2. Your proicessor is half a capable as fx 3820. You could go to an a10-5800 trinity without replacing motherboard, but i don't think it's worth it. Assuming thats $600us not pounds or something else. You could get a new mobo and cpu. However, your psu is a bit weak at 350w peak. Is your memory 3x4gb's sticks or something else?

The 8320 is a good all-rounder and the 770 is well as low as i would recommend. Others do go lower but it could be the difference between an enjoyable gaming experience or not. Providing your ram is usable and i don't see why it wouldn't apart from loosing 4gbs so it is at least working in a dual channel capacity. You go lower on cpu to say fx-3120 to bring you in on budget. Although, I would stick with wants presented if possible.

Hope this helps.

Ok. And yeah my memory is 3x4gb sticks. This might be a dumb question but If I were to do this what games could I run at a very high setting?.
I only really play dayz mod but I have to play on low settings. I want a better pc so I can play a wider verity of games.

You will be amazed, pretty much all of them. I can play arma 3 which compares to dayz (kind of being Arma 2) at ultra settings with 280x. Which is comparable to GTX 770 at 1080p. You will be able to play what ever you want at very high settings, some i'm picking at ultra. LOL

Metro: lastlight. BF3/4 what ever games you would choose. This setup will play them without issue. (well apart from the expected odd driver issue, whether that be AMD or Nvidia).

As good as AMD's igpu solutions are, they like intel's cannot compete with a good discrete graphics card.

If you can buy via newegg i would pick the next,

PCPartPicker part list

CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor ($153.45 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Asus M5A97 R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($94.79 @ Newegg)
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 770 2GB Video Card ($324.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Power Supply: XFX 550W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($25.99 @ Newegg)
Optical Drive: LG GH24NSB0 DVD/CD Writer ($14.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $614.20
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

it's mostly about the psu which is a very good one,but the rebate expires today so you would have to order that one now.Though the motherboard is a better choice, especially with overclocking in mind.

If you like how Gee Bee helped you and he resolved your question you could pick his answer as the best solution.
