hello,

I recently bought a GTX 645 brand new off a guy who was swapping the graphics card in his alienware. Im running off WinXP

I installed Nvidia Graphics Driver Version 331.93 off their website, On installation it said it may not be compatible with WinXP, however i conntinued the installation, and now the graphics are messed up,

Is their any other drivers i can install which are compatible with the card?

Many thanks

did you make sure you selected Windows XP Operating system before proceeding any further for download?
Are you using 32-bit or 64-bit win xp?

Had to roll back the drivers as they completely messed up flight simulator, i think i'm going to find a suitable card for WinXP, then use that until i upgrade to WIN7 after buying a new mobo and processor. :/

it would be better to get pcie slot checked of your motherboard before going for any other card. If you have any other pcie slot in your motherboard, try that slot and see if you still having the problem.
If yes, then it's your gpu that needs to be replaced.

I have PCI X16 and 2 white ones, and one extremely small white one, maybe a GTX 610?

what motherboard are you using? Check on board itself if you don't know.

yes that motherboard would definitely bottleneck your gpu performance and it's just got single pcie X 16 slot. As you are saying, you will have to get another board and cpu to make it perform better than current results. So, good luck for your upcoming build.

I seem to believe that it's just windows XP that doesn't support newer graphics cards.

that would be wrong to say. It can be said like you won't be getting optimal performance from your gpu using older OS which limits your gpu performance by some margin. Same is case with xp.
