Hi hi! Building a new rig for the first time in the better part of a decade!

Building it by pieces: Asus Z87-Pro, Intel i7-4770K, 16 Gb of dual channel Patriot RAM (slotted as recommended in slots A2+B2), New, blank HDD and DVDRW both connected by SATA 6 Gb/s lines (provided with mobo). Monitor connected by HDMI and/or VGA. No other equipment installed yet. Fresh Win 7 (Pro 64) install disk is in the DVDRW tray.

All connections double checked, power on and:

  • ■No Output to monitor by either cord type
■CPU fan is controlling intelligently (high spin on start up, then slows)
    ■Case fans are not running
■No LED code from the mobo

Any help would be much appreciated!

Additional info:
Have tried removing RAM, swapping slots, confirmed that the HDD is spinning, checked plugs and jumpers.

The system is not beeping, not lighting up the component error LEDs, and is not displaying any Q-code.

Starting to worry that I got a dead mobo. =(
