Hello,

Recently my computer’s Ethernet has just stopped working. I have tried different Ethernet cables and everything else my house works fine. I had a friend tell me that something may be broken as the 2 LEDs that are beside the Ethernet cable are not lighting up. Is this what's wrong? If not what can I do to fix this the computer is not even picking up the network and under device manager it says it is working fine.

Solution
You can also test trying other ports from your router and/or switch but as I see it the non-lighting LED lights are already telling a significant thing (unless it's only the LED light that's broken out of the blue)

Try first to disable it, restart, and enable. This has been an old trick to old NICs.

You can try installing a new LAN card and if that works, it's showing that it's really your current network card that has the problem. Otherwise, you can go really technical by testing the electrical activities of the ethernet port.

Unfortunately the disable, restart thing did not work so I’m going to pick up a LAN card to see if that is the issue, thanks a ton for the advice though.
