I know how to access the BIOS in Windows 8, but I can't really configure any hardware, I can just enable or disable things.

As of now I have on board graphics, Intel HD Graphics 4000 that is, and its not great. I wanted to dedicate some of my RAM, which I have more than enough of (8GBs), to my on board graphics. The BIOS screen that I get from pressing F2 on start up does not allow me to make these changes which I know are possible. (See this link: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/265122-30-increase-gr... )

I am aware that this may not increase my computers graphics performance drastically but I thought that it may be worth a shot.

Access the BIOS in windows 8? What are you talking about, the BIOS does not run under windows.

also, we need the MB model and revision to be able to answer your question.

Sorry about that, I now realize that I posted this in the wrong section. I went into System Information and all I could find out about my motherboard is that that it is manufactured by Dell.

The ability to set aside system RAM to integrated CPU graphics is completely dependent on your motherboard, not windows. Some motherboards with less features will not have this option. I am guessing that your Dell falls into this category, you probably won't be able to do it.
