I know how to access the BIOS in Windows 8, but I can't really configure any hardware, I can just enable or disable things.

As of now I have on board graphics, Intel HD Graphics 4000 that is, and its not great. I wanted to dedicate some of my RAM, which I have more than enough of (8GBs), to my on board graphics. The BIOS screen that I get from pressing F2 on start up does not allow me to make these changes which I know are possible. (See this link: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/265122-30-increase-graphic-memory-part-memory )

I am aware that this may not increase my computers graphics performance drastically but I thought that it may be worth a shot.

The ability to set aside system RAM to integrated CPU graphics is completely dependent on your motherboard, not windows. Some motherboards with less features will not have this option. I am guessing that your Dell falls into this category, you probably won't be able to do it.

Sorry about that, I now realize that I posted this in the wrong section. I went into System Information and all I could find out about my motherboard is that that it is manufactured by Dell.
