So ive told a couple of the guys i work with that i want to build a pc using the BitFenix Prodigy case but they all said no. the main reason is because of the size they said that i wouldnt be able to upgrade parts in the future. is that true? and what are the Pros and Cons

Splendid
The Prodigy is almost as large as a Micro ATX case, but you can only fit a ITX board. It has plenty of room to work with. It can mount a water cooling radiator on the top of the case as long as you're not using a optical drive. Have lots of bays to install 2.5" and 3.5" drives. I have on myself and I like it a lot.
Get what you want and not based your decisions on others opinions.
There is a MicroATX version call Prodigy M, but the PSU is in the front, I personally don't like front mounted PSUs.

ITX upgrading is limited because you only have 1x PCIe x16 slot for graphic card. All the rest have to be onboard, that means to get a ITX board with the most features, or get components that have a USB interface.
Here is another ITX case, it's from CM
