This question is regarding ASUS X501A notebook. Is it possible to take a brand new ASUS X501A notebook, attach a (double ended) USB cord or an HDMI cord to another ASUS X501A notebook (same exact model that has no operating system, windows 8, drivers, etc)~does have a brand new, clean hard drive~i want to know if it is possible to transfer the entire system into the #2 notebook?? Disregarding any type of backup of my old files, etc, not looking to do that. If this is possible, is it just that easy? Will the notebook recognize the other notebook? Thanks!

P.S) the notebook #2 has been previously installed with Windows 8

No, it does not work like that.

There are various cloning applications than can clone or migrate from one drive to another.

But there are significant issues here:
One license, one PC.
Your target laptop has no OS. Turn it on, and all you may get is the BIOS screen. The source laptop cannot just 'read it'.
USB-USB does not worl like that
HDMI is completely out of the question. That is video/audio only.
The license on the source PC is tied to that particular motherboard.

Bottom line: Just buy a new Windows license for the second laptop. Or use a free Linux distro.
