Is it possible to turn my Inspiron 545 into a PC capable of gaming?

I'm new to PC building and really want to get into gaming on the PC. I currently have a pretty old Inspiron 545 which runs on vista. I was wondering if I would have to buy a completely new PC to start playing games or would I be able to simply replace the 300w power supply and add in a gpu (I was looking at a nvidia gtx660) and maybe some more ram and be good to go?

Does anyone know if this is possible? I'm also unsure of what type of gpu is compatible with my PC so if anyone knew the answer to that it would be really helpful as well.

Thanks a lot - jake

A pretty old Inspiron will have a pretty old processor.

It won't be able to manage any new games at all.

I am afraid you are looking at selling your Inspiron, adding some more cash to it, and then deciding how much you have to buy everything.

In short, without knowing the processor, but I am guessing it's pretty old, you won't manage much.
