I purchased an Intel i7 3770k for my setup. I was using the stock Intel CPU cooler until my Hyper 212 Evo arrived. Now it has arrived, and I was wondering what I need to do to switch coolers? Will the stock fan just come off, or do I need to worry about the thermal grease sticking? Also, should I wipe away the old thermal paste before applying Cooler Master's? And if so, how should I do it?

Good advice mind you., because you can't beat a visual tutorial.

side note:sorry easy I've had a few and Phil Collins just jumped in.
Dear first of all relax,

Start removing the stock cooler. It is not that much difficult. Remove it and yes you'll need to remove the existing thermal compound's residue. It can be removed by using alcohol dipped bud or piece of cloth.

Give some time to the top surface of the processor.

Follow the instructions to install CM Evo. You'll need to apply thermal compound before placing cooler over the processor.

Yeah unscrew it. take it off gently because your right old thermal past might stick. Wipe the old off with a little bit of soaked in rubbing alcohol. Apply new paste but not too much just enough to have a thin film on the surface. apply it evenly too. slap heatsink back on
