700 series discounted?

Alright, well i'm thinking of buying a 700 series card but am unsure. Since the new maxwell architecture has been released, i know the 800 series is probably on its way. But, when the 800 series is released, my question is, will the 700 series be discounted right away, or will there be a wait?

It will probably be discontinued quickly. But 8xx may not come out until 20nm is ready

normally nvidia will discontinue the card early on before the next series hit so they won't have to lower the price of the previous series (the one that still in stock) much when the new series officially comes out. take Titan for example. the new Titan Black is priced at 1k but the older Titan still priced at 1k. but look at it's availability:

there wont be a maxwell card faster than the 760 until december. nvidia is doing very well with their 760, 770, and 780s... no reason to undercut themselves. when nvidia does release a powerful maxwell, it will be a flagship card priced at $1000 or so and will offer 20-25% more performance than the full gk110 780ti.
