Monitor not turning off when Desktop shuts down.(HDMI)

Hi! I have recently upgraded to R9 290 and as it is a modern card, I decided to upgrade to HDMI (used DVI before). The problem is that whenever I turn off my pc, my monitor (Samsung P2470HD) does not turn off. Does anyone know a way to make my monitor shut down simultaneously with my desktop? (without using remote controller)

new monitors dont turn off pre say. they go into sleep mode (amber led on). low power wait. to turn a monitor off-off you have to press the power button to turn the monitor off. if a pc turns off right there should be nothing showing on the monitor. check that the pc that all the fans have stopped moving...if they have not then the mb stuck on...qucik fix for that is take power from the pc off and clear the cmos. if the pc fans are off but there a samsung logo popping on and off across the screen then in the monitor settings turn off logo..burn in...some monitors have a logo pop up to keep the screen from getting a image burnt into them.
