I have searched the internet and found that you cannot add RAID 0 to an existing system, however i have 3 hard drives atm, 1 is in use its just an ordinary hd that im using to run my system. but my plan is to completely restart my pc and have everything running on my two new hard drives in RAID 0.... but i wish to keep everything that i have on my current hard drive and have it installed afterwards to use it as storage if you like for my videos e.t.c... how would i go about doing this without backing up the hard drive as i do not own an external hard drive nor do i have the money to buy one at the minute. Is it as simple as just plugging in the hard drive after ive done a fresh install of my two new hard drives?

More about : adding raid

Maybe.
But backing up a little....why do you want the RAID 0 setup? What are you wanting to get out of it?

OK.
If you want the RAID 0 to be the boot device, you will need to reinstall all your games and applications. You can't just keep them on the other drive and hope they work.

Regular files? Yes. Applications? No.

But if you really want speed, get an SSD and use that as the OS and application drive. Much faster than HDDs in RAID 0. And far less chance of fail.
