So I have a Gigabyte 970A-DS3P Motherboard which I'm pretty sure supports Crossfire (correct me if I'm wrong i'm fairly new to this) And I have a GTX 650 GPU and I was experiencing a bit of lag on games such as BF4 on high cost game modes like conquest. So my question is can someone recommend a secondary graphics card for either under 50 or just over that is usable with CrossFire to go with my GTX 650??

Also how exactly does CrossFire work? Is is as simple as installing 2 compatible GPU's or is it more complex?

Thanks :)

Oh, crossfire is for AMD gpu's. The GTX 650 is an nVidia gpu and uses a similar technology called SLI. Your motherboard only seems to support CrossFire. If you are still lagging in game and would rather not turn down the settings, the best thing to do would be to buy a more powerful gpu. Or overclock your cpu some if you can.

OK, first of all, I know you're new at this, so here is a terminology lesson: Crossfire is what AMD Radeon calls their linking tech. SLI is what nVidia (what you have) calls theirs.

Now on to the meat of your question: As far as I know, you must use the same type of GPU to use SLI/Crossfire.

When installing a second GPU, you plug the card into the motherboard and then you plug in a bridge, linking the two cards together. You may or may not have to enable things in the driver control applet, it's been awhile so I'm not 100% sure.
