So I have finished building my computer. But I have realized that my motherboard has no onboard video. So I'm going to buy a graphics card but I have nothing set up and no operating system. So I'm wondering will I be able to just plug the monitor into the graphics card or will I have to set up the graphics card and if so how do I set up the graphics card when nothing on the computer is set up and there is no operating system.

Solution
You just install the GPU into the motherboard and then plug the monitor into it. After you install windows, you will be able to install the GPU drivers. The only issue before installing the drivers will be wonky screen resolution. But after you install the drivers, that will be taken care on.

What are your system specs?
