I changed the MAC on my netgear router to change my current IP address, This worked great for the first couple days hopping back and forth on the 2 MAC addresses and then it stopped connecting to the internet, I tried a couple days later and it worked great. I changed my MAC address on my router today and it will not give me internet access.I have done full restarts on the modem and then the router (just like I do when it works) but no internet. If i change it back to the MAC that was assigned to my router this morning the internet works fine.

Why is it working some days and not other days?

You need to talk to your ISP. Usually, your account talks to a particular MAC address and device. Changing the MAC address may screw that up.

And why did you need to change the MAC address to change the IP address? Blocked from a particular game server, perhaps?
