Graphics Card question for Gateway DX 4831

I'm looking to get a new graphics card and power supply. The power supply I'll be getting will be either 450 or 575 watt, as for the graphics card I want to get a NVidia GTX 750 Ti (really having a hard time finding) but not sure it will go in my computer and after searching online I could find no up to date list of what cards can go in a Gateway DX 4831. I'm running windows 7 with 6GB of DDR 3 ram and I would like to play a few games in high to very high settings, and my screen resolution is 1600 x 900. Can anyone help?

The 750 ti fits the bill, you would not need to buy a new power supply if you have 300w or better.

I believe those gateways come with 300w or 500w psu's.

As far as processors is concerned your motherboard limits your upgrade to an compatible LGA1156 i5/i7 like the i7-860.

You would need a whole new motherboard to install an amd processor.

All I know is it has an i3 core processor 530 2.93 GHz and there is a spot for a graphics card and the power supply is just factory 300 watt. I'm looking to get at least a 500 and new card. I'll be getting a new processor in a couple months but for now money is tight and I can just get a card and power supply and they will be enough to at least run The Sims 3 and all expansions at high settings for now to get me through while I wait for a couple PS4 games.

The versions listed on your link seem to be newer DX 4831. When I bought mine the i5 was about a month away from coming out. When I do get a new processor I'm thinking of either getting an i7 quad or AMD Octacore.

Spoke with Gateway and my motherboard pretty much sucks since it can't hold any current graphics card and the ones it can hold are not compatible with any PC game I want to get so I have to wait till I can save up which will be around October to get a new Motherboard, i7 4770 processor, 16gb Corsair Vengeance memory, 750 watt Corsair power supply and a new card (thinking of getting the GeForce GTX 770). Hopefully after all that my PC will be good for a while. At least I have my trusty PS4 and in a few days I'll have a Vita for my gaming fix. Right now I'm just hoping with the motherboard I'm getting (which looks great) will fit my tower which is midsize. If not I'm going to have to buy a case, new HD and not sure what else and have someone assemble it for me. Really hoping it doesn't come to that.
