Im planning to buy an XFX 260X in best buy tomorrow but wondering is 1GB good for gaming still but whats the difference between 1GB and 2GB? Fan cooling is it?

There is pretty much no difference at all. It is a marketing technique to make the product look better. In fact, only top of the line gpu's tend to utilize more than 1GB of ram. As for cooling, one fan should be enough. I have a radeon 7850 by XFX (which is basically the same thing as a 260x) and it works just fine with one fan.
