Made a few changes, RAM is a little cheaper, but great RAM and a great deal. CPU is a i5, perfect for gaming, awesome for OC'ing. ASUS board with built in wifi if that's ever needed, great for OC'ing, great price. The case is 100% up to you. Got a cheaper but a great name brand XFX PSU. Samsung 840 EVO SSD for better quality and performance. Lights and fans are up to you. Windows 8 will provide a 5-20% gaming performance increase, bypassing Metro interface is fairly easy.

Only thing I would change is going with an i5 4670k instead of the i7, the i5 is great for gaming, the i7 isn't needed unless if you're also doing video editing. If you are going to be doing hardcore Photoshop or video editing stick with the i7 and get 16 gigs of RAM.

Little bit cheaper if you maximize your buying range as of merchants and such.

Best regards, Vel.

If you want to look beyond an Intel build, this would be the build I would suggest and what I use. It's works flawlessly and AMD is way cheaper than the Intel build and imo I like to use the extra cash on something else :D. I also suggest you go with the Inter SSD (5yr warranty keeps the mind at peace) with sandforce controller. The rest (case, cooler, etc)you can pick and choose as per your requirement. I use the stock cooler and am waiting to upgrade to a water cooler.

CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor : $199.99
Motherboard : Asus SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard : $184.49
Memory : Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory : $159.99
Storage : Intel 530 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk : $119.99
Video Card : EVGA GeForce GTX 770 2GB Video Card : $369.99
Power Supply : Corsair 760W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply : $169.99
Total (6 / 6 Items): $1209.34

Hope this helps.

Your original build looks good to me.Yes the i5 should already be good enough for gaming, but that's up to you.
I don't know why you put the green led fans in,the only place they can go is the top afaik and you want the H100i there.
I also would opt for windows 8(.1).
I would also pick the samsung 840 evo for the ssd if the price difference isn't to big.The kingston is already a nice addition though.
I also would pick black (or with an extra color added) ram with a case with window and that motherboard, some other options,

Maybe the first with the led lights is nice with the window and all, don't know the name and how reliable it is.It still has a lifetime limited warranty.

Vel, I was thinking about NCIX and it would be cheaper. Just a little leery about their ship times and pcbuild workmanship. What has your experience been with them or others you have heard talk about them?

Well, I thought in your OP you said you were having NCIX build it?

I know for a fact that NCIX is reputable because I've bought literally hundreds of parts from them, not one even came to me damaged, not to say it isn't possible.

The worst shipper I've had by far is Amazon, and I have free Amazon Prime for 3 years cause they screwed up a order so bad.

I build PC pretty much as my second/now main job cause I got laid off a bit ago.

I ALWAYS suggest building YOURSELF if and only IF you feel COMFORTABLE doing so.

I haven't ever had anyone else buy the PC's people buy from me.

This build seems around perfect for your needs, but you might want to get a SSD for the OS, it really does make a difference if you can budget it.
