Hi
I've just signed up and loving these forums! I have a question about upgrading my system?

Current specs:
Intel Core i3 2100 3.1GHz
8gb (2x4gb) RAM
Palit GeForce GTX 660
Tascam US 1641 (external soundcard)
Asus P8H61-M LE Motherboard
Cooler Master: Elite 370
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

What I'm after:
I mainly use this machine for music production and recording. I use Reaper/Reason and as many VST/VSTI plugins as I can! There's no lag or anything as far as recording goes so I'm mainly after whatever can speed up load times and help avoid crashes during large projects.

For gaming I'm pretty set but I would really like to run:
Skyrim HEAVILY modded both visual and gameplay mods (ENBs, HD textures, New NPC mods etc...)
PS2 emulation
Whatever will help me run these two

I also do a bit of video editing

What I'm currently considering purchasing:
i7 haswell processor 4770k
Another 8gb of ram for 16gb quad core
UAD-2 SOLO DSP accelerator?
Geforce 780 gtx ti
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO (for possible overclocking?)

So finally my question is how much of this will actually help me in what i'm after? Is anything excessive? Is anything not enough? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Danny

Hi, whilst the 4770K will be a much faster CPU you can't overclock on a H81 mobo, only on Z87.

The components you posted/choices all sound pretty solid and will do a great job for you but what PSU are you using?

If you want to OC your 4770K, I'd recommend upgrading to a Asus Maximum VI Hero motherboard OR

You can get a Xeon 1230 V3 which will work fine with your current board and it's fast as a 4770 except cheaper and has no integrated graphics, it has the same hyperthreading though and it can not be overclocked(your current board can't OC anyway)
