Getting low fps in Minecraft, please help.

Solution

Download HWMonitor and tell us your temperatures after gaming for a few minutes. It's possible that things are getting too hot and your computer is throttling itself.

You only got 60 fps before "refreshing" with that setup? I got 60 with an FX4170 and GT430. Something's wrong. Try toggling vsync and openGL in minecraft's settings. If those don't fix the issue, you might have a heat problem.

I kept it locked at 60 before, I tried both of those settings but neither worked, anything else I can do?
thanks

After about 10 minutes of gaming my cpu's min was 39C and the max was 46C. My Gpu's min was 27C and it's max was 37C.
